This way, it advanced 0.12% compared to S/3.6380 at the close of Monday, according to the report of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). At 9.25 am the green ticket in the parallel market was trading at S/3.62 for purchase and S/3.65 for sale. While in the banking market it reached S/3.5490 for purchases and S/3.7320 for sales at the windows of the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

The index of the dollar US, measuring the currency against a basket of six others, was little changed at 102.42.

The euro rose 0.1% to $1.0931, supported by a still-aggressive European Central Bank (ECB) after two lawmakers said Monday the bank should err on the side of further rate hikes as the inflation rate could be even higher than what the ECB expects.

Sterling fell 0.2% to $1.2799, ahead of UK inflation data on Wednesday and the Bank of England (BoE) interest rate decision on Thursday. Markets expect the BoE to deliver a quarter point rate hike, followed by almost another 125bp of tightening through the end of the cycle.
