The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) appointed Betty Armida Sotelo Bazan as the new executive director of the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (Fonafe).
Through supreme resolution No. 003-2023-EF, the resignation presented by Mrs. Lorena de Guadalupe Masías Quiroga from the aforementioned position is also accepted, thanking her for the services rendered.
Betty Sotelo is an economist from the Federico Villareal National University and has a Master’s Degree in Public Management from the Universidad del Pacífico. She has more than 40 years of experience in public administration and has developed her professional career at the MEF.
Before being appointed as head of Fonafe, she served as Vice Minister of Finance, General Director of the General Directorate of Public Treasury, and General Director of the General Office of Investments and Projects of the MEF.
Fonafe is a business conglomerate belonging to the Peruvian state. Some of the companies that make it up are Essalud, Editora Perú, Enapu, Corpac, Serpost, Banco de la Nación, Distriluz, among others.
The supreme resolution bears the signature of President Dina Boluarte and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras.
