The Sacha field, located in block 60, Orellana province, reached production of 72,808 barrels of oil per day (BPPD) on June 15, 2023, Petroecuador reported.

A drilling campaign begins at Campo Sacha to produce another 3,000 barrels by December

The CEO of Petroecuador, Ramón Correa, indicated that currently this field is the one with the highest production in the country, followed by Auca, with 70,508 BPPD; Shushufindi, with 61,500 BPPD; and ITT, with 55,407 BPPD.

The Sacha field has been in production for more than 50 years and has an average API crude oil grade of 24.9. It is managed by Petroecuador. For his part, Correa explained that the increase in production is possible thanks to the location of successful wells, techniques such as hydraulic fracturing, reactivation of closed wells, matrix stimulation, secondary exploitation, among others.

“Sacha is the most important project in the portfolio and would be with an integrated services contract with financing, for a period of 20 years”: Roberto Salas

“The actions carried out by the public company, through the management of this business, enabled the Sacha field to meet the set goals through the support and commitment of the technical staff working on this important asset,” said the head of the state-owned company.
