The Congress of the Republic promulgated by insistence the Law 31788which declares a national holiday on June 7 in commemoration of the battle of Arica and Flag Day.
To this end, it modifies article 6 of Legislative Decree 713, which consolidates the legislation on paid breaks for workers subject to the labor regime of private activity. This is how this new date is entered into the payroll.
In this way, the holidays are the following:
- New Year 1st of January)
- Holy Thursday and Good Friday (movable)
- Labor Day (May 1)
- Battle of Arica and Flag Day (June 7)
- Saint Peter and Saint Paul (June 29)
- National Holidays (July 28 and 29)
- Battle of JunÃn (August 6)
- Saint Rose of Lima (August 30)
- Combat of Angamos (October 8)
- All Saints (November 1)
- Immaculate Conception (December 8)
- Battle of Ayacucho (December 9)
- Lord’s Christmas (December 25).
In its complementary provisions, the law establishes that this non-working and paid national holiday includes all public institutions and entities in the country, without prejudice to the respective labor regime.
Likewise, it indicates that the ceremony of renewal of the oath of fidelity to the flag of Peru is carried out in a mandatory manner in all entities of the state administration. The Ministry of Defense, through the Peruvian Army, establishes the protocol and the ceremonial formula.
Finally, it is specified that the Executive Branch, within a period not exceeding 30 calendar days from the effective date of this law, adapts the Regulations of Legislative Decree 713, approved by Supreme Decree 012-92-TR.
