MTPE creates Sector Commission to prepare a proposal for the Labor Code

This Saturday a Sectorial Commission ofl Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) that will elaborate a proposal of the Preliminary Draft of the Labor Code. This, in order to resolve the dispersion of labor regulations by establishing a regulatory framework that includes new forms of work and aspects that affect the employment relationship, as well as the dissemination of decent employment.

It is worth emphasizing that this commission will be valid for 120 calendar days from its installation and It will present a final report that contains the proposed Draft Labor Code, which will be submitted to a tripartite dialogue in the National Labor Council.

This initiative seeks to benefit 3.6 million workers in the private sector, since access and compliance with their rights will be guaranteed.

Said specialized group will analyze and evaluate the legal, socio-labor and economic implications of the proposed Draft Labor Code. It will be made up of representatives of the Vice Ministry of Labor, the Vice Ministry of Employment Promotion and Labor Training, the Cabinet of Advisors of the Ministerial Office, the Technical Secretariat of the National Council of Labor and Employment Promotion, of the General Office of Legal Advice, of the Directorate General for the Promotion of Employment, the Directorate General for Labor and the Directorate General for Fundamental Rights and Safety and Health at Work.

The members of the Sector Commission must be accredited within a period of no more than three business days from the day following the publication of the resolution. Meanwhile, this table will be installed in a maximum time of five days, after appearing in El Peruano.
