Petroecuador resumed deliveries of AC-20 and RC 250 asphalt this Saturday, June 10, to meet national demand, as the state-owned oil company announced on its Twitter account, where it also reported that the Esmeraldas refinery will extend its working hours to meet demand. of this material from June 15.

The delivery delay was caused by a malfunction in Crude Oil Unit 2 of the Esmeraldas Refinery, which caused an emergency shutdown of Non-Catalytic Units 2 (Crude Unit 2 and Vacuum 2), where asphalt is produced.

The fuel spill led to a temporary suspension of water supply in the three cantons of Esmeraldas

For now, Petroecuador has programmed the availability of 682,689 gallons of AC-20 asphalt and 41,768 gallons of RC-250 asphalt, which means an approximate shipment of ten tankers per day.
