Iquitos: This Thursday the 8th begins the IV Congress of Amazonian Entrepreneurs 2023

This Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9, the IV Congress of Amazon Entrepreneurs – CEA 2023 will be held in Iquitos with the motto: “For the sustainable and inclusive development of the Amazon with a vision of 2050”, which is scheduled to be inaugurated by the president, Dina Boluarte.

The congress, which is in its fourth edition, will have the participation of more than 300 businessmen, authorities, experts and academics. For the first time, it includes regional governors, local authorities and native organizations that are committed to profitable activities that are friendly to the natural environment.

The meeting seeks to achieve a “Strategic Plan for the Sustainable Development of the Amazon with a Vision to 2050”, and promote, in the shortest term, the integral development of the Amazon region, with legal productive activities that impact the environment as little as possible. , and that respect the native populations.

Its central objective is to promote space for the exchange of experiences, promote investment and innovation for family, corporate and community enterprises – small, medium and large.

The Congress will have nine sessions: five will be this Thursday the 8th, and the remaining four the following day.

Among the keynote speakers are the former Minister of Economy, Luis Carranza; the former Minister of the Environment, Energy and Telecommunications of Costa Rica, Jorge E. Rodríguez; the FAO representative in Peru, Mariana Escobar, and the founder and vice president of ProNaturaleza, Marc J. Dourojeanni.

The meeting will take place in the facilities of the “Sombrero de Paja” hotel, in the city of Iquitos, and will end with the participation of the Amazonian regional governors and the Iquitos Declaration, the final document with the conclusions and agreements of the meeting.

The organizing committee of this Congress is made up of the Amazon Regional Commonwealth, the Regional Government of Loreto, the Provincial Municipality of Maynas, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Loreto, the Pro Amazonía Group, Governors Climate and Forest Task Force – GCF and the Peru Group of Indigenous Peoples.
