The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Juan Carlos Mathewsassured that the movie Transformers will generate a positive impact of tourists to our country from the second half of 2023.

In dialogue with RPP Noticias, the head of Mincetur said that the film comes at a time when the Imperial City is preparing to broadcast the Inti Raymi celebrations internationally.

“It is very good news that a film of this scope sees Cusco and the San Martín jungle as the background for these presentations. It has already premiered in Mexico and it is estimated that it will have 100 million viewers […] this stimulus could have an impact of 25% or 30% of the flow of tourists to Peru,” he said.

Likewise, he assured that tourism is an important source of work that must be reactivated as soon as possible in all corridors that were previously affected by social protests.

“It is not just about promoting but preparing Peru, there is a limit of 4,044 visitors to Machu Picchu and it is correct that it be taken care of because it is its world cultural heritage,” said the minister.
