This Wednesday, September 7, the Executive Branch installed the High-Level Commission, chaired by the Ministry of Production, for the creation and implementation of the national urea plant and other nitrogenous fertilizers.
The process of construction would generate more than 5,000 jobs. A figure of 800 jobs is also presumed for operation and maintenance, in addition to guaranteeing the food security of more than 33 million Peruvians and the assurance of the production of more than 2 million agricultural units of family farming. Another aspect to consider is the industrialization of the country.
Said working group must prepare the respective technical report, which will take into account the annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of urea and 500,000 tons of ammonia.
The High Level Commission has a term of 15 calendar days in order to present the regulatory proposal for the creation and implementation of the national urea plant.
In this way, Produce tries to secure the possession of quality fertilizers, with the help of technology, and the improvement of land productivity with the aim of providing greater benefits to our farmers.
