The work done by firefighters in the country is important considering the various emergencies that arise. Every year, several citizens become interested in participating in the institution, either for a career or for selfless work.

The Law on Fire Protection establishes that fire brigades consist of: volunteer, engaged and military firefighters, as well as technical, administrative and service personnel.

With volunteer firefighters, their work is unpaid and they are divided into active, passive, assimilated and honorary. While hired firefighters receive compensation.
