For the second year in a row, Guayaquil will be the meeting place of the customs of the continent, once again the headquarters of the II Customs Congress of the Americas and the Caribbean (Cadlac), organized by the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae), together with its strategic ally the Corporation for the Promotion of Exports and Investments (Corpei).

Ecuapass, which needs between $15 million and $18 million to change or strengthen its software, is being watched with interest by customs in the region

The first edition, held in June 2022, was deemed a success by Senae due to the participation of more than 1,500 people in keynote talks and panels with professional experts that were held. The institution also hopes that the regional event will be a platform to promote dialogue and cooperation on trends and challenges in customs trade and border management.

This second edition, which will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Guayaquil on June 7 and 8, will have two main components: introductory lectures and a commercial exhibition.

Through the first component, renowned national and international experts and lecturers will present and deal with personal and virtual topics related to four thematic axes: new perspectives and scenarios, trade facilitation, trade security and the use of high-performance technology and instruments.

“The Congress is an ideal place to create networks, exchange experiences and learn from numerous initiatives, in order to secure and control an international logistics chain that guarantees greater facilitation of legitimate trade,” Senae said in a statement.

Cadlac consists of representatives of the national government, foreign trade entities, delegates of international organizations such as the World Customs Organization (WCO), the Latin American Integration Association (Aladi), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and delegates of the customs administration of the Americas and the Caribbean.
