Banco Pichincha was recognized for promoting gender equality practices

Banco Pichincha was recognized in the contest The Talent Doesn’t Have Gender in the national organization category for promoting gender equality practices.

The institution was awarded in the fourth edition of the event promoted by the Chamber of Industries and Production (CIP), PwC and Women for Women Ecuador, with the support of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and UN Women.

Banco Pichincha assured, through a statement, that it was the first Ecuadorian company to sign the Principles for the Empowerment of Women and has a gender intelligence program for the growth, development and generation of opportunities for employees and clients.

“When women advance, communities and economies progress and societies transform,” she said. The Bank’s workforce is made up of 65% women, of which 48% occupy managerial positions, 62% are in charge of heads and 414 were promoted in 2018. Likewise, there are 200 of them with flexible work schemes and around 2,000 benefit from parenting support programs.

In addition, approximately 70% of Pichincha Mi Vecino non-bank correspondents are run by women and 60% of microenterprise clients are also run.

The Bank offers a financial and non-financial offer designed for female development. Along these lines, the credit product that does not require the signature of a spouse, longer terms and months of grace, stands out.

Additionally, the Bank is the first financial entity in the country to obtain the EFR Certification, as a family-responsible company, recognizing the need to reconcile the personal and family goals of its workers with the labor objectives.
