They met in college and soon decided to get married. “There wasn’t much romance in it”
Edward Linde-Lubaszenko and Asja Łamtyugina met when he was studying medicine. Their passion for poetry and acting brought them together. The wedding took place quickly. – There was not much romanticism in it – years later Lubaszenko. On December 6, 1968, their son was born. It was Edward who strongly urged Asya to have a child. Later, she herself said that her son was the best Christmas present. Asya Lamtyugin passed away on March 31, 2023. For years, she was a great support for her son, trying to replace his absent father. The marriage did not last long, however. Olaf was 3 years old when his parents decided to separate. As he himself mentioned, he does not remember his parents’ divorce, and in his childhood he associated his father mainly with the TV screen.

Although he inherited his talent and passion from his parents, he refused to follow in their footsteps for a long time. He did not want to study at the acting school, where his father was the dean. Edward Linde-Lubaszenko learned about his son’s debut in the series “Życie Kamila Kuranta” … from television. – His acting plans were hidden from me he said years later. – Before my father saw me for the first time on television, he had no idea that I was on the show. They had had sporadic contact over the years. They didn’t talk, they didn’t even see each other on holidays. When Olaf Lubaszenko began to have health problems, he gained a lot of weight and his career died down, he fell into depression. It was then that his father extended a helping hand to him to “come to his senses before it’s too late”. They managed to mend their relationship. – Now we’re like typical mature men who have gone through. We like each other, but we don’t talk much – Linde-Lubaszenko.
