This Friday, through an emergency decree published in an extraordinary edition, the Government of Pedro Castillo recognized that the 65,000 tons of fertilizers that will be purchased to meet the current agricultural campaign will only arrive in November.
In this sense, they point out that “there is a risk that a group of agricultural producers who start planting cannot access the delivery of urea in a timely manner”which will be signed, according to the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development (Midagri), Andrés Alencastre, no later than next week.
“Finally, we chose an Italian company (Union Sped) with 30 years of experience. More time has been requested from them, it ends on September 7 (the deadline to sign the tender) ”, he told RPP.
Said DU formalizes the creation of the Fertiabonus to help farmers who drive up to ten hectares in the purchase of fertilizers. The subsidy ranges between S/ 496 and S/ 7,447.
According to Alencastre, this financial support will directly benefit 370,000 farm workers.
