Bottled LPG will remain in the Stabilization Fund until August 31, 2023

The Minem considered extending the permanence of this fuel in the FEPC, due to the fact that there is no predictability in the evolution of its international price.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (minem) amended article 1 of the regulation that dictates measures to stabilize the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and that kept this fuel within the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund (FEPC) until May 25 of this year.

Thus, through Supreme Decree No. 011-2023-EM —published yesterday in the extraordinary edition of El Peruano—, LPG bottled in FECP is included until August 31, 2023.

“In the context of a slow economic recovery in the country and the situation of the LPG market, environmental conditions have been identified that make it pertinent to continue with the evaluation of the withdrawal of LPG-E from the FEPC since they represent pressures on price volatility throughout the LPG marketing chain”, argues the standard.

In addition, it adds that it is necessary to postpone LPG – E in the FEPC, considering that there is no predictability in the evolution of the international price of fuel, in addition to the situation of closing ports due to abnormal high intensity waves during the following months and the need to evaluate the implementation of more efficient and targeted measures.

The supreme decree is endorsed by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras, and the Minister of Energy and Mines, Óscar Vera.
