If a contributor to the Pension Standardization Office (ONP) dies suddenly, their bereaved they should know that they have the right to receive a pension called survivaleven if the insured has not yet reached pensioner. Which are the requirements?
  • He spouse or cohabitant must have a problem disability for work or being over 60 years of age.
  • The marriage must have been celebrated at least one year before the member’s death and before the member’s 60th birthday, if he was a man, or 50 years old, if he was a woman.
  • The de facto union must have occurred at least two years before the death. If the registration was not made, you can make the recognition in judicial form.

What documents to present?
  • Request according to format, which includes affidavit of authenticity of documents.
  • Simple copy of the medical certificate of disability issued by isHealthMinistry of Health or EPS.
  • Simple copy of the police report or autopsy certificate.
  • Plain copy of medical certificate issued by Minsa, EsSalud or EPS (applies only to when the spouse or member of the common-law union is pregnant on the date of death of the insured).
  • Simple copy of documents proving the employment relationship: work certificatessalary slips, liquidation of service time or social benefits.
How much is the amount?

The maximum amount of said pension under this scheme is equal to 50% of the pension that would have corresponded to the worker. The minimum widowhood pension is S/350.

orphan’s pension

Which are the requirements?

The orphan’s pension is a benefit granted to children under 18 years of age. They also receive descendants with disabilities over 18 years of age or those who are studying at a basic or higher level, provided they prove they are studying when they reach the age of majority.

What documents to present?
  • Request according to format, which includes an affidavit of document authenticity.
  • Simple copy of the documents that prove the employment relationship and/or simple statement that records the employment relationship.
  • Simple copy of the certificate or proof of studies, enrollment, income or grade report from the study center.
  • Simple copy of the disability medical certificate issued by EsSalud, Minsa or EPS public health establishments.
How much is the amount?

The amount granted is equal to 50% of the pension that the holder received on the date of his death. In the case of an orphan, the minimum pension is S/270.

ancestry pension

The ancestry pension is a benefit granted by the ONP to each father or mother of the insured. However, there are two specific conditions for parents to access this type of pension if there are no widow or orphan beneficiaries.

Which are the requirements?
  • Parents with disabilities.
  • Father over 60 and mother 55 or over.
  • In both cases, the parents must demonstrate economic dependence on the deceased and must not receive income greater than the amount of the pension that would correspond to them.

What documents to present?

For the survivor pensions, an affidavit indicating the authenticity of documents is requested. When proof of disability is required, a copy of the medical certificate issued by the Ministry of Health, EsSalud or EPS is required.

What is the amount?

The amount granted is 20% of the pension that the deceased holder would have received. The minimum ascendant pension is S/270. If there are direct beneficiaries of widowhood and orphanhood, the parents will receive the remaining surplus.
