After the dissolution of the National Assembly, due to the effects of the constitutional measure of death on the cross, the Treasury will be able to save at least $33 million in the budget that was earmarked for the legislative function. Minimum wages and other goods and services will no longer be part of the costs to be shared by the Ministry of Finance: $29.1 million would be for wages and $3.9 for goods and services.
According to the execution of the budget, which is reported daily in the Ministry of Economy, it is known that the budget of the Assembly for the year 2023 was a total of 51.4 million dollars. However, until yesterday, about 17.7 million dollars had already been executed, so another 33.7 million dollars remained to be executed.
The largest part of this budget is dedicated to staff costs. According to the budget, it is foreseen that 44 million dollars will be paid in the year for personnel costs, which were intended for the salaries of 137 members of the assembly and four advisers each (total of 548 advisers), in addition to administrative staff. Of this, 14.9 million dollars have already been paid out in the four and a half months of work of the National Assembly (29.1 million dollars remain).
Meanwhile, there is a budget of $6.6 million for goods and services, of which $2.7 million has already been spent, so those funds would represent savings as well.
