The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, announced that the first legislative decree signed after the application of the death on the cross was a tax reform to reduce taxes.
“I signed the first emergency decree on the economic reduction of taxes, strengthening the economy of 460,000 Ecuadorian families and this will mean that close to 200 million dollars will return to their homes,” the president said in his message to the nation announcing the dissolution of the National Assembly and the calling of early elections.
As of this Wednesday, May 16, the government ceases to apply the decree of the law, “without the block” of the Assembly.
The tax regulation will be sent to the Constitutional Court for a ruling.
