The PNV spokesman in Congress has indicated that they hope to include amendments referring to the High Speed Train and the completion of its arrival in the capitals of the CAV.
The PNV spokesperson in Congress, Aitor Esteban, has assured this Wednesday that it has not yet closed the negotiation with the Government of Spain to ensure its support for the General State Budgets of 2022, despite having already included more than 40 amendments in the accounts, and has said that it expects more concretions in the arrival of the TAV to the CAV: “This is still long,” Esteban said, warning that “up to the tail, everything is bull.”
Esteban explained that this year the budgets “have been somewhat atypical” and that, not by the will of his group, but because of how the times and the negotiations with the Government have developed, both parties have not managed to close a budget agreement, limiting it to concrete amendment agreements so far.
“We cannot say that we are closing the negotiation and we will continue talking,” Esteban assured, noting that they would “like to improve” the accounts and include new demands. “There are issues that interest us and that we want to discuss,” he said, also pointing out that the process does not end in Congress, but that the Budgets must also be voted in the Senate, and that there the PNV will also enforce its votes.
Without giving much more details, the PNV parliamentary spokesman explained that hopes to be able to include amendments referring to the High Speed Train and the realization of their arrival in the Basque capitals, something they hope to link to the budget agreement.
Asked if this negotiation has affected the consolidation of EH Bildu as a partner by enabling together with ERC an alternative majority without the PNV, Esteban has assured that they are not “upset” and that the Government is obliged to “ensure their Budgets” with groups that , in turn, they have “the same legitimacy as others” to negotiate. “That is logical, each one plays his cards,” he said.
