65% of mothers in Peru have a job, according to the MTPE

In the framework of Mother’s Day, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) has reported that according to the preliminary results of the 2022 National Household Survey (Enaho), 65% of the mothers of the family are working in some occupation.

Likewise, 32% of mothers are inactive at work and 3% are actively looking for a job, but have not yet been able to find it.

Among the main areas in which they work mainly is independent work (45.1%) and salaried work (34.7%). For their part, they also carry out service (40.7%), commerce (28.0%) and extractive (22.6%) activities.

Regarding their profile, most of them have a partner (63.6%), are adults between 30 and 59 years old (75.6%), have secondary education (42.7%) and higher education (27.9%). %). Likewise, 3 out of 10 are concentrated in the Lima region.

It should be noted that 80.2% of mothers work in companies made up of 1 to 10 workers.
