Sevilla frustrated after suffering late draw at Juventus

After falling behind on the scoreboard, Juventus drew 1-1 in stoppage time with Sevilla this Thursday, in Turin, in the first leg of the semifinals of the Europa League.

The Spaniards took the lead with a goal by Youssef En-Nesyri (26′) in the first half, but Juve left everything the same with Federico Gatti (90’+7), a result that keeps the match open for the second leg, next week, at Estadio Sánchez Pizjuán.

“It’s a shame, with the game we played, they tied in the last shot of the match,” lamented Sevilla coach José Luis Mendilibar in an interview with the Movistar+ platform.

“We made a good counterattack and got a deserved draw that leaves everything open for the return game,” Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

With the draw, Juventus and Sevilla depend on a simple victory next week to qualify for the final grid on May 31, in Budapest. In case of a new tie in normal time and in overtime, the finalist will be decided on penalties.
