With 22,000 units sold in 2021, Chinese brands will showcase new models at China Motors Expo

The commercialization of Chinese vehicles went from a 15% share in 2019 to 22% in the Ecuadorian market in 2021, a growth of 7% in the last two years, according to figures from the Ecuadorian-China Chamber of Commerce (CCECH). He added that 22,000 units have been sold so far this year.

This growth of Chinese automobiles in the local market prompted the Chamber to organize a new edition of the China Motors Expo, which in 2019, the first time it was held, brought together more than 30,000 visitors at the Crystal Palace in Guayaquil. .

This edition will be held this Wednesday, November 24 at the Quito Exhibition Center, Los Caras room, in La Carolina park, at 11:30. Representatives of the productive sector and the Chinese Embassy will participate in the meeting, where details of the growth strategy through price and quality policies will be revealed. In addition, more than 20 Chinese brands will show their new models and innovations.

Gustavo Cáceres, president of the CCECH, highlighted that currently China is the world’s leading automobile producer with more than 25 million in 2020; and in Ecuador, three Chinese brands are already in the top ten one of the best sellers.

These are Great Wall with 4,019 units sold, JAC (3,936) and Chery (3,897), as of last September.

“It is the competitive prices, the first-rate equipment and technology that have marked the preference of clients in the Ecuadorian market. Chinese vehicles do not ask for favor from any brand from another country, ”said Cáceres, regarding the reasons for the public’s preference for Asian brands.

Meanwhile, he announced that the China Motor Expo will have two more editions in 2022, in Guayaquil and Quito, during April and May. (I)
