Congress seeks that affiliation to the pension system be voluntary

Within the framework of the discussion for a pension reform, the working group in charge of carrying out a study of the proposals for the improvement of the Peruvian pension system of the Congress He presented —preliminarily— the principles that the new scheme should have.

“Workers on the payroll are forced to join a pension system, and for independent workers and others it is optional; that’s why no one joins. Any reform that starts with a voluntary affiliation to the pension systems is doomed to failure”, he added.
