Dollar in Peru: exchange rate opens on the rise and is located at S / 3,845 this Thursday, August 18

The price of the dollar began the exchange session this Thursday, August 18, slightly higher and stood at S/ 3.8455, as reported by the Bloomberg agency. Thus, the US currency advanced 0.13% compared to the S/ 3.8400 that it recorded the day before, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

At 9:20 am, the greenback in the parallel market was trading at S/ 3,830 for purchase and S/ 3,870 for sale, according to the portal quantumestaeldolar.pe. For its part, in the banking market it was purchased at S/ 3,814 for purchase and S/ 3,876 for sale at Interbank windows.

This happens after the Department of Labor of USA reported that jobless insurance claims fell for the first time in three weeks, indicating job demand remains healthy.

In the local scenario, it was known that the Peruvian economy registered a growth of 3.5% in the first semester, after a slight rebound in June, which was driven by the manufacturing and mining sectors, which grew up to 5.99%. However, the Minister of Economy, Kurt Burneo, indicated that there is a risk of falling into recession.
