New edition Banana and cocoa summit will be held in Guayaquil. The event, which will start this Tuesday the 9th and will last until Thursday the 11th of May, will take place at the Simón Bolívar Convention Center.

Job creation and strengthening the exchange of knowledge and technology to optimize techniques and increase production are presented as the goals of this three-day event, where agents from these sectors will meet.

Banana and cocoa together show progress in research and technology and are looking for work

During the summit, achievements in scientific and technological research will be presented, for which more than 20 national and international expert lecturers will participate in topics related to the sectors. There will also be a commercial exhibition that will enable the creation of opportunities and the introduction of market trends.

On Wednesday, a series of conferences will begin, which will cover the topics of micronutrients in banana production (Ecuador), prevention, monitoring and control of Fusarium wilt (Netherlands) and new regulations for the cocoa chain (Germany and Mexico).

There will also be speakers from Honduras, Argentina, France and Belgium.

According to the Ecuadorian Export Federation (Fedexpor), the sale of bananas abroad in 2022 was concluded with 3.268 million dollars, while cocoa with 868 million dollars.

The third edition of the Banana and Cocoa Summit is supported and supported by the Asociación de Graduados Zamoranos del Litoral – Ecuador (Ageaple); Association of Graduates ZEMLJA (Agearth); and the Association of Producers of Fine and Aromatic Cocoa (Aprocafa).
