Technology: 4 out of 10 Peruvians plan to buy a smartphone in the next 12 months

Globally, this figure rises to around 35% and in the region it reaches 42%. , according to a study carried out by G.F.K..

Tablets are another product that around 42% of Peruvians plan to buy in the next 12 months. Followed by televisions (40%), washer or dryer (26%). However, in the global trend, Smartwatches occupy second place with more than 36%.

“Smartwatches are products that are on the increase and it is likely that in the coming years they will be more and more required products for the day to day. It will become an item that everyone will want to have after buying a smartphone”, says Karen Doig, Country Manager of GFK Peru.

Peruvians spent less on their daily needs

Last year, 7 out of 10 Peruvian consumers (73%) who shop online were forced to spend less on their daily needs due to rising prices, according to GFK.

According to the market analysis company, close to 45% of people believe that now is a good time to wait instead of making a purchase immediately. In contrast, only 11% of people perceive that it is a good time to acquire a good.

This is complemented by the actions that consumers have taken. For example, more than half of them (53%) postpone their purchases until the product they want is on sale.
