New Talara Refinery has already produced more than 1 million barrels

The complex made the sixth shipment of low sulfur diesel under the supervision of Minem.

In February of this year, the New Talara Refinery began the gradual and progressive production of low sulfur diesel. At the moment, it has already exceeded one million barrels.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, oscar verasupervised the sixth shipment of the eco-friendly fuel shipment, as well as the various facilities of the complex, which currently operates with 80% of its units in service.

Vera Gargurevich reiterated that the New Talara Refinery “was built with the highest international standards” and that it has a capacity to process up to 95,000 barrels per day, making it one of the most modern refineries in Latin America. Its 100% start will take place “soon”, she added.

How is the New Talara Refinery made up?

According to Minem, the refining complex has 16 processing units and five packages of auxiliary units and complementary services. Likewise, two liquid cargo docks, 21 new storage tanks and an accredited laboratory for internationally valid results.
