Cybermonday Ecuador edition will be held from November 26 to 29

This November, in addition to Black Friday, Ecuadorians will be able to have access to the Cybermonday offers, which in its sixteenth edition brings together more than fifty businesses of all kinds with discounts of up to 50%, free shipping and other benefits.

Juan Carlos Diaz, executive director of the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce (CCG), announced this Monday, in the presentation of the event, that on the website www.cybermonday.ec, the offers will be available from Friday, November 26 until Monday 29 and highlighted that they are valid nationally and internationally for delivery within the country.

“Even a person who is in Spain and wants to surprise someone here, can buy and take advantage of the good prices,” he said.

The director mentioned that they hope for the next editions to be able to offer better offers with more convenient prices and that are on par with those of the rest of the countries in the region.

“We would like to have much cheaper prices, but we still have opportunities for improvement that lie in the reduction of tariffs, we have tariffs equivalent to 9.5% in Ecuador, while Chile, Peru, etc., are at 2%, that makes our prices are a little less economical, “he said.

Additionally, the director said that the expectations for this event are very high since in Ecuador, e-commerce platforms increased from 290 to 6900, “which means that the Ecuadorian is trading every time from digital platforms” and noted that, most transactions are made from mobile phones.

He also mentioned that the trend of electronic commerce should be kept in mind for new ventures and already established businesses, to facilitate commercial operations in both local and transnational markets.

The director said that, from the entity, they hope that soon in the country, through the tax reform that is being processed in the National Assembly, the Tax on the Exit of Foreign Currency (ISD) will be repealed, that the Consumption Tax will be lowered. Special (ICE) and that, in general, reduce the tax pressure, something that they consider essential for the post-pandemic economic reactivation.

Diaz said that, according to figures from the CCG, it is expected that $ 2.3 billion will be billed for electronic commerce this year and that they expect that next year, the figure will grow to $ 2.8 billion.
