Dina Boluarte: “In this management, the rights of workers will not be cut in any way”

During her participation, the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, He indicated that in his management there will be no setback in terms of labor rights and that he will seek to combat the informality that affects more than 70% of the population in Peru.

“This is a government deeply committed to respecting and defending workers’ rights. In this management in no way workers’ rights will be curtailed because they are acquired rightss, there will be no setback,” said Boluarte this Monday.

“We are working to reduce inequality gaps in the labor sector, where more than 70% work informally without social benefits and protection,” he added.

It should be noted that currently, compared to the pre-pandemic, underemployment has increased by 19.5%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). This means that more than 2 million 119,300 citizens work precariously, in addition, for those who receive a salary below the minimum, the increase has been 44.5% compared to 2019.

In this line, the president said that a labor agenda is being coordinated together with thel National Labor Council to reach agreements on consensus and policies in the field of work. “We are promoting job creation through programs such as lurawi peru which has shielded nearly 20,000 temporary jobs so far this year, mainly for low-income compatriots in areas affected by rains and floods in the north of the country,” he said.

The ceremony also included the participation of the Minister of Labor (MTPE), Fernando Antonio Varela Bohórquez.
