Peruvian economy grew 11.4% in the third quarter of this year

In the third quarter of this year, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 11.4%, when compared to the same quarter of the previous year, a result explained by the dynamism of the components of domestic demand: household consumption ( 11.8%), government consumption (6.6%) and gross fixed investment (24.1%).

According to the technical report Behavior of the Peruvian Economy prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), this result was contributed by the recovery of the world economy and in particular of our main trading partners, whose higher demand had an impact on better prices and 9.2% growth in the volume of our exports of goods and services.

“Despite the statistical effect caused by the lower production experienced the previous year due to the measures to face COVID-19, the economy continued on the path of recovery, with positive growth rates for the third consecutive quarter,” said the INEI.

He added that the vaccination process and the measures aimed at economic reactivation also contributed to this result.
