Sunafil: how much should I be paid if I work on May 1?

Sunafil reminded the workers that working on May 1 implies a payment for the holiday (already included in the monthly remuneration), another for the work carried out and an additional amount, equivalent to a surcharge of 100% of the remuneration corresponding to the work done.

“Keep in mind that, if you are in private activity and you work in person or remotely on May 1 and you will not be granted a substitute day of rest, your employer must pay you 3 payments at the end of the month,” he said in a statement.

If the employer grants a day of rest in substitution of the holiday worked, the worker will no longer receive any additional amount. And in case the day of rest is this Monday, May 1?

“If you rest, your employer will grant you two payments: one for your rest day and another for the holiday. But if you work, you will receive 4 payments: one for the rest day (already included in your monthly salary), another for the holiday, in addition, another for the work carried out and, finally, an additional amount equivalent to a surcharge of 100% of the remuneration corresponding to the work carried out”, said Sunafil.
