The Lima Stock Exchange closed the session of this Thursday, April 27, 2023 with gains in most of its indices, recording 12 upward indicators, 3 downwards and one without variation. Thus, the S&P/BVL Peru General index, the most representative of the Lima stock market, rose 0.16% to 21,974.66 points.
For its part, the S&P/BVL Peru Selective index, which is made up of the most traded shares in the local market, gained 0.10% and stood at 561.4 units.
The industrial sector was the one that reported the most profits in the day with an advance of 0.50%, followed by mining (0.29%), construction (0.28%) and services and electricity (0.20%). On the other hand, the only item that registered losses was financial (-0.08%), while only consumption showed no variation.
Among the local companies that registered the greatest losses were: Volcan Compañía Minera (-5.71%), Fundo Bursátil Van Eck El Dorado (-1.68%) and Alicorp (-1.23%). While those that registered gains were: Corona Mining Society (5.26%), Pomalca Agroindustrial Company (2.69%) and Cartavio Open Stock Company (2.44%).
Foreign stocks closed sharply higher
According to César Romero, Head of Research at Renta4 SAB, the stock market rose and posted strong gains from Big Tech fueling the rally. Goal took the lead, jumping 14%.
