Minem will carry out 31 electrical projects in its portfolio by 2028

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported that it has 31 power plant projects in 12 regions of the country on the agenda, totaling an investment of more than US$5,114 million and They will come into operation between 2023 and 2028. In addition, 3,163.5 MW of power will enter and be installed in the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).

In detail, there are four wind power plants (718.7 MW), five solar plants (596.5 MW), 21 hydroelectric plants (1,746 MW) and one natural gas (102.3 MW); which will be located in Lima, Arequipa, Áncash, Ayacucho, Moquegua, Puno, Junín, Huánuco and Loreto, Ica, Piura.

It should be noted that in Arequipa five projects will be carried out, including solar, wind and hydroelectric plants, with an investment of US$1,016 million; and in Ica three will be developed for US$599.8 million.

Likewise, the only gas-fired thermal power plant will be built in Piura and will require an economic injection of US$191.7 million.
