BCRP: construction sector grew 17.8% compared to September 2019, a year without a pandemic

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that the construction sector grew by 17.8% in September compared to 2019, a year without a pandemic. This positive result responded to the increased activity regarding the continuation of execution of private works and the physical advancement of Public Works.

What’s more, The largest investment at the national and local government level was in the one that registered an increase in terms of road infrastructure works and basic services. On the other hand, domestic cement consumption increased 23.6% compared to the same period. In addition, progress in public works increased 1.2%.

On the other hand, the BCRP announced that the construction sector has grown 1.2% compared to August and continued to be above pre-ndemic levels. They also reported that compared to September 2020 the construction sector grew by 12.6.
