Support from the Executive

The Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) had also been in favor of the initiative.

The General Directorate of Fundamental Rights and Safety and Health at Work, through report no. 0019-2023-MTPE/2/15.1, determined that since the CTS is a mode of protection in favor of the employee at the time of termination, Due to the nature of the benefit, it does not justify a differentiation based on the duration of the working day. “It is considered appropriate to propose its granting also to part-time workers,” he said.

Regarding this section, he also pointed out that since the calculation of this benefit is regulated based on the monthly remuneration received by the employee, the application of the principle of equalization protects equal opportunities in the workplace for part-time employees.

ANDhe document in question was issued during the administration of Luis Adrianzén. Being a ministerial position, it would be expected that it be maintained during the Fernando Varela administration.
