Along these lines, 60% of the companies agree that it is a positive initiative, while 20% state that it is an effective measure to promote rest opportunities among their employees.

It is important to mention that, according to the survey, since it is not a declared holiday, 56% of the companies will take this day into account as a vacation, while 33% will request that the hours in the week be recovered. In addition, 11% of organizations will grant it as a totally free day at the company’s expense.
“It is gratifying to see how companies adopt measures to benefit the work-life balance for their employees, since 10% of the companies indicated that this day off would be so that employees have time to take vacations with their family or loved ones in a way to honor them for labor day,” said Lina Yupanqui, benefits consultant, Health and Benefits Consulting at Marsh Peru.
It should be noted that public sector workers have mandatory rest, but they must recover these hours on another date.
