state company Petroperu reported this Monday, April 24, that engineer Carlos Vives Suárez submitted his resignation as Chairman of the Board, who assumed this responsibility on January 9 of this year. As appropriate, he will be succeeded by the current vice president: Pedro Oswaldo Chira Fernández. Industry sources indicate that Chira would be ratified as owner by the General Shareholders’ Meeting.

“During his tenure, Petroperú began the production of low-sulfur fuels at the New Talara Refinery. Likewise, the signing of the License Agreement for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons in Block 192 was completed, and the incorporation of a strategic partner is in process. Similarly, the company’s financial sustainability continued to be strengthened, for which the company’s Restructuring Plan consultancy began,” they emphasized in their statement.
