This Sunday, April 23, Russell Crawford Johnson, the well-known former CEO of the San Carlos Agricultural and Industrial Company, a company where Crawford held various positions for 39 years and retired in 2014, passed away.

Crawford was born in the United States on March 11, 1946.

Since 1975, Crawford has held positions at the plant as: Supervisor of the Industrial and Agricultural Extension Department (1975-1979), Operations Supervisor (1979-1983), Assistant Operations Manager (1983-1988) and Manager operation (1988 – July 2014) .).

That year, during a tribute to his career, José González, assistant manager of operations, highlighted his qualities as a leader in his field. His wife Dora Serrano de Crawford and their children Stefanie Crawford and Roberto Crawford were present.

Crawford also had an outstanding performance in sports, especially in basketball in Athletic Club Guayaquil, a club founded on May 1, 1922.

In February 2022, it was one of his last public appearances when he received an award from the prefecture of Guayas for his mother, historian Lois Johnson Roberts, for her work documenting banana and cacao production in Ecuador.

In the meantime, Crawford’s death was reported on social networks. Businessman Leonardo Escobar and former president Abdalá Bucaram highlighted the business and sports career of the former director from San Carlos.

Crawford’s vigil will be at the Parque de la Paz Camposanto, starting at 4:00 pm this Monday, April 24. On Tuesday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m., there will be a mass for the present body, and the burial at 5:00 p.m.
