The Government delivered this Friday, August 5, 2022 its proposal for the Price Control table to the Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference in which aspects of reference prices and the support of essential products are addressed.
Methodology is modified in the dialogues between the Government and social leaders to specify results in five days
This document contains the formal proposal from the Executive to be analyzed by the indigenous organizations that participate in the dialogue process that was agreed for the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (Conaie) to depose the protests that paralyzed the country for 18 days last June.
Once the proposal is analyzed, the dialogue will resume at this table on August 9.
The objective is to reach a definitive agreement, which will later be socialized by both parties, the Government Ministry reported in a statement.
Meanwhile, at the end of last July, during the second day of talks between the Executive and Conaie, the indigenous leadership exposed at least 42 products of the basic basket so that they could be subject to price control by the Government, through a reference table.
The list included basic necessities, as well as cell phones, internet and gas for domestic use.
