In March 2023, the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) achieved the highest collection in its institutional history, as announced this Monday, April 17, through a statement.

More than 825 million dollars, or an additional 61.9 million dollars, was collected, which represents an increase of 8.1 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the entity.

The entity assured that this achievement is a response to the management carried out by the current administration, which promotes the processes of collection and collection of obligations of employers and protection entities.

Last March, IESS cited, timely collection was $742 million. It is the collection of obligations that is carried out up to the maximum payment term without interest and therefore corresponds to the current period.

In the case of the collection of overdue liabilities, it was about 83 million dollars and it is about values ​​from previous periods. In the same month, collection by sector recorded a significant increase compared to the same period last year.

In the private sector it was 7%, which is equivalent to an additional 31 million dollars, and in the public sector it was 11%, which represents an additional 26 million dollars.

In terms of collections by type of liability, the item that grew the most was collection of contributions, which recorded an improvement of 11 percent, equivalent to an additional $53.1 million, the entity reported.
