“The Multiboyas 2 Terminal of the La Pampilla Refinery has not been operating since January 2022. This facility has no presence of hydrocarbons throughout its entire length,” Repsol said in a press release published through its social networks.

Regarding the alarm of the presence of hydrocarbons in the Peruvian sea, the company clarified that it was waste and that it is not the first time that such an event has been reported.

“What was indicated by OEFA was a migratory stain that was moving from the south, with the appearance of burned oils and fish oils, which included garbage, wood and other solid waste. This was reported to the respective authorities, as they have been reported other similar findings in the past. Despite not being related to any of our activities, it has been cleaned up,” he added.
