On April 12, the deployment stage for interoperability between Yape and Plin began. In this phase, which will take place throughout the month of April, it is expected to progressively enable around 12 million people to carry out money transactions between both digital wallets.
It should be noted that the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) released the “Regulations for interoperability of payment services provided by providers, agreements and payment systems”, which specified that the deadline for interoperability between Yape and Plin expired on March 31 of this year. Thus, for that date, the transactions were implemented for a group of 10,000 customers.
From when can transactions be made?
According to Yape, On Wednesday, April 26, the new version of the application will be available to download, which will allow receiving and sending between mobile wallets. Likewise, users who already have the Yape app must keep it updated in order to access this option in the coming days. This is totally free.
For his part, Plin reported that the deployment will begin in the second half of April, and expects to reach 100% of its users — approximately 10 million — from that date.
