Thus, 67% of citizens claim to have used mobile applications such as Yape and Plin to make money transfers and pay for purchases in the market, trips and medicines, for example.
The report specifies that 63% of Peruvians use these electronic wallets to pay for their purchases in social network stores (Facebook and Instagram) and on communication platforms (WhatsApp and Messenger).
However, in the rest of the channels, such as the websites of the big brands or delivery services, debit and credit cards are preferred by up to 72%.
What do Peruvians spend the most on?
On the internet, Peruvians prefer to allocate their money to streaming services (37%), classes and courses (29%), and manage their bank accounts (26%), detailed from OMG.
On the other hand, physically, they opt for perishable (51%) and non-perishable (47%) foods, as well as household cleaning (45%), personal hygiene (44%) and medicines (38%).
