Family members and heirs can find out for free if a deceased person had debts. For this, the following documents are necessary first.

  • Death certificate.
  • Simple copy of the identity document (DNI).
  • Application form (it is available on the website or offices of the SBS).
  • In the case of representation, a document granting power of attorney must be shown with a simple copy of the identity document of the person representing and of the represented.

This documentation must be done through the SBS website and choose the option informed heirs. After that, you can select central risk reporting SBS (debt report). Attach the requested documents in PDF format and click send. According to information on its website, the maximum delivery time for said information would be five business days.

What other information about a deceased relative can be obtained for free?

Through the aforementioned platform of the SBS, people can also obtain the certificate of life or personal accident insurance policies, proof of deposits or other passive products and proof of affiliation status to the SPP. It is worth noting that the maximum response time for each of these requests is 11, 12 and 5 business days, respectively.
