Pension 65: Midis advance payment to beneficiaries of regions affected by rains

The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midi) announced that, in order for its users to be able to face the emergency situation due to the climatic phenomena that are affecting various parts of the country, the National Solidarity Assistance Program Pension 65advanced to Monday, April 10, the beginning of the payment of the subsidy for the period March-April 2023, which corresponds to the second of the year.

The portfolio explained that the measure is part of the actions aimed at people affected by rains, mudslides and overflows, especially in regions declared in emergency: Piura, Lambayeque and Tumbes; La Libertad, Ancash, Arequipa and Lima.

In Piura, the social program serves 48,798 older adults with the economic subsidy every two months; in Lambayeque it is 20,571 and in Tumbes it is 4,911. While, throughout the nation, it serves 627,924 users in all of the 1,874 districts that exist.

It should be noted that, from this year, the pension has an increase of S/50 in the assigned amount, which adds up to a total of S/300.

To make the advance payment effective, Pensión 65 issued the Executive Management Resolution No. 000073-2023-Pension65-DE, with which the new schedule was approved.

Prioritization of indigenous, Amazonian and Afro-descendant peoples

The Midis highlighted that, in the present period, a total of 3,046 new users were incorporated into Pensión 65, corresponding to native, Amazonian and Afro-descendant peoples.

Its inclusion was possible because through Resolution D000040-2023-PENSION65-DE. On February 10, 2023, Pensión 65 established indigenous, native, Amazonian and Afro-descendant peoples as priorities for income to the program; as well as people with TB, disabilities, centenarians, victims, vulnerable, reintegrated, from Vraem, divided by age groups and without priority.
