The Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) confirmed a fine for S/520,720 (113.2 UIT) against the company Viettel, for which he declared his appeal unfounded.
According to the resolution of the Board of Directors No. 00066-2023-CD/OSIPTEL, Viettel sent inaccurate information, for two information reports, corresponding to the 2020-II quarter.
What happened? The operating company had to report quarterly the mobile lines with tariff plans that have data for free use by the user (free data), as well as unlimited or exclusive data for certain applications (exclusive use data) with all its generated traffic, since these are mobile lines that give the user the possibility of accessing multiple contents, within the analysis period.
However, from the supervision actions, it was detected that Viettel in his reports excluded the data traffic sent through specific application packages, despite the fact that it was sent through lines that allowed access to content of the user’s free choice.
“Neither in the framework of his Appeal, Viettel has alleged or proven the cessation of his infringing conduct; rather, it persists in its erroneous interpretation”, the resolution maintains.
The document has the signature of the president of Osiptel, Rafael Eduardo Muente Schwarz.
