The unions The organizers of the strike that is taking place this Monday in public education in Navarra (LAB, Steilas, CCOO, ELA and UGT) have described it as a “success” the mobilization and have urged the Government of Navarra to negotiate an improvement of its Labor conditions.
On the occasion of the strike, in Pamplona they have left four columns of protesters from Cuatro Vientos, Barañain, Mendillorri and Txantrea, who have come together in front of the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra.
The concentrates have carried banners with slogans such as “Negoziazioa Orain”, “For a quality public education”, “Same work, same conditions. No to discrimination!” and “Stability! Quality education”, while chanting slogans such as “Military expenses for schools and hospitals”, “Temporary employment, labor disaster”, “Twenty years temporary, something is being done wrong” and “Gimeno, if not lower the ratio, you watch the patio”.
At the rally, Isabel Fernández, from UGThas indicated to the media that the first day of strike that took place on February 15 “did not produce any results” and, therefore, they have called a second strike “That seems to be having a good follow-up.”
Although he has affirmed that “we must be cautious” about the data from follow-uphas considered that he himself may be around 50% and, therefore, the day “points to a great success”.
“We already consider it a great success that there have been a hundred centers that have adhered to our demands through their cloisters” and “adherences continue to arrive”, he stressed.
The Government figures the follow-up at 21.3%
The Department of Education of the Government of Navarra, for its part, has estimated the follow-up of the strike at 21.3%. According to the data provided by the Department, at 1:00 p.m. a total of 2024 teachers of the public network (1,440 women and 584 men) have supported the strike.
Of the 11,033 teachers in the second cycle of Infant, Primary, Secondary, Bachelor and Vocational Training, 1,536 (14.1%) had to attend the minimum services. Of the remaining 9,497, a total of 2,024 (21.3%) have supported the day of strike.
