ONP: more than 1,500 members received a proportional pension

The Social Security Normalization Office (ONP) began yesterday with the payment to the first 1,508 beneficiaries of the proportional pensions, who will be able to enjoy a monthly payment between S / 250 and S / 350.

The head of the ONP, Walter Borja Rojas, recalled that members who contributed between 10 and 14 years will receive S / 250 as a pension; while those who contributed between 15 and 19 years will receive S / 350.

“We have reached as of October to qualify 1,508 resolutions that grant the right to 1,508 new pensioners that today they are beginning to collect their pension throughout the country “, he pointed out and stressed that this issue represents a” long-awaited right for all contributors, “with pensions that can be collected even from abroad.

“Members who have contributions from 10 years or more can request their proportional pension through virtual channels that are open 24 hours a day. To do this, they must enter our website, select the options to request the pension and then we contact them to accompany them in the registration of their application ”, he explained.

For his part, the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Pedro Francke, said that the payment of the ONP’s proportional pensions, which have at least 10 years of contributions, will represent a cost of S / 255 million during the first year.

“In the first 12 months we are calculating that it will cost us 255 million soles that are already in the budget, and, well, in the medium and long term this has a cost of something of S / 7,000 million ”, he explained.

It should be noted that in the long term the MEF estimated to benefit more than 700 thousand older adults.

How to apply for the proportional pension?

They must enter the web “onpvirtual.pe” and select the option ‘I am contributing’ and ‘I want my pension’. Then, complete the ‘Request your virtual attention’ form. Once the steps are completed, the ONP will call the member to register the request. It will be evaluated within 30 business days, and, if everything is satisfied, an email will be sent with the resolution.
