Navarre face a new one today strike day in Education, the second mobilization this course, called by the unions LAB, Steilas, DC. oo., THE A and UGT and to which they are called more than 10,000 teachers of the different levels of the public education.
Claims go through a drop in ratios at all stages, reduce temporality “real” below 8%, decrease the “overload” of work with more resources and regain purchasing power after having lost 20% since 2010, which requires salary improvements, the adaptation of labor levels to the qualifications of the Bologna Plan and a professional career for all.
It is a second mobilization this course —the previous one was on February 15— by feeling that their representation in the Sector Table has been “completely ignored” throughout “the entire legislature” and turned into an “advisory body” instead of being “the negotiating space” that “legitimately” corresponds to it.
In Pamplona, the teachers will leave in manifestation (10:00 am) from four columns until reaching the Department of Education one hour later. Also, there will be concentrations in Tudela, Alsasua, Santesteban, Estella and Tafalla.
They denounce “total absence of negotiation”
“We firmly believe that achieving these demands, in addition to improving the working conditions of teachers, will have a direct impact on a substantial improvement in the public service they offer,” said the spokespersons for the five unions at the ceremony on March 6, in who read a joint communiqué stressing that “education is the main instrument for improving society” and therefore “we must pamper it for a greater social justice“.
For this reason, they encourage the rest of the union organizations and other agents of the educational community to join the strike this Monday and call on the Government of Navarra to hold a “real negotiation at the legitimately established tables”, because “as long as there is no negotiation and they are not Once the demands have been met” they will continue with the mobilization dynamics.
In response to the journalists, Pilar García (CC. OO.) pointed out that “on the 15th the strike was quite forcefulthe follow-up was mostly by the education sector, rather than the health and nucleus, and yet, we have not received any response, we have not been called”. “We have a legislature with a total absence of negotiation and we are always told the same thing , that there is no more money and that the budget items cannot be increased”.
Along these lines, he indicated that they hope that today’s strike will have a “follow-up at least equal to or greater than the previous”. “In this case, it is a strike that we only called for the education sector. Precisely, to give greater visibility to this sector, we have disassociated ourselves from the strike in the health sector,” he pointed out.
