ELA delegates have decided, in an assembly held this Sunday in Bilbao, postpone the trade strike in Bizkaiawhich I had planned start this Monday and continue on April 4 and 5and open a period to “analyze the proposal that the employers made on March 31.”

In a statement, ELA has recalled that the employer has raised “solely and exclusively” an economic proposal “before moving on to other social issues.” The offer consists of a 11% salary upgrade for 2023an increase of 4% for 2024, 3.5% for 2025 and 2.5% for 2026.

The proposal adds that, in the event that the sum of the CPIs for the years 2023-26 were greater than 10%, the difference will be updated in January 2027.

ELA has ensured that this salary approach, “which has been valued by the rest of the unions, still insufficient“. “It is essential that the employer enters to also regulate a plus online to offset the additional burden that online sales have entailed, as well as the incorporation of new technologies in sales processes”, he claimed.

In the event that the employer’s proposal “does not include the required guarantees”, ELA has warned that “will reactivate the necessary mobilizations and strikes in defense of the interests of workers in the sector” at the end of this month.
